#FaceItFriday: Not Regretting A Single Point
/During this past week, I knew I would have more social engagements than I had in the previous 5 weeks combined. Haha.
This journey is about losing weight while living our lives. Not every week will be a loss. Not every week will be a time where you can weigh and measure everything that goes into your mouth. Not every week will feature you on vacation.
The best thing to do is go into each week with an intention:
This week I am
- okay with a gain
- looking to maintain
- working towards a loss on the scale
Once you set your intention, your choices WILL be impacted. I can promise you that.
This past week, I was going for maintenance. I wanted to commit to tracking everything, but knew some of it would be guesstimating and I would have to use many (if not all) of my FitPoints.
So I chose which social engagements I wanted to splurge at and which I wanted to stay on track. It really helped me go into the week with a clear head.
I also hadn't planned on splurging Wednesday night, but a dinner with my boss ended up happening after we went to Flywheel and I opted to have french fries for the second time since re-joining WW.
They were worth every point!
THAT is what I wanted this past week. If I splurged at all, I wanted to make sure I looked back said "I regret nothing." I hate those days or weeks or months when I look back and think about how I wasted Points on stupid food choices. We do not have unlimited Points so I shouldn't eat that way. I want to make sure I spend the Points on foods I love.
This past week I did just that.
While I accepted the food choices I made, I took pride in my workouts. I really pushed myself this week and felt awesome.
Workouts this past week:
Friday - 45 min strength training class + 2000m swim
Saturday - 10 mile run
Sunday - 3200m swim + 3 mile run
Monday - 45 min bike
Tuesday - 2400m swim + 45 min bike trainer
Wednesday - 45 min strength training class + 45 min Flywheel class
Thursday - 60 min bike trainer + 45 min Flywheel class
Overall this past week I again focused on my daily habits app and the guidelines I set week 1:
- Tracked every bite, lick and taste. Tracking streak is at 45 days (including today)!
- Earned 4 blue dots on my WW app (which means I was within a certain number of pts of my daily points target)
- Drank at least 100oz of water every day (Today is Day 45)
- Blogged every day (Today is Day 42)
- Logged at least 10k steps (Today is Day 33)
Here is how my tracker looked by Thursday night. I used ALL of my 35 weekly points. I ALSO used ALL of my Fitpoints. I have unsynced my Fitbit so I am only going to be accruing Fitpoints from my manually entered activities.
I went into the weigh-in expecting a gain. Not only did I use every single point - weird ending right on 0 - but I had had my period this past week (sorry TMI) so I felt bloated anyway.
I had to go in right when they opened since I had to jet to an early work meeting. Tara wasn't there yet so Sharon weighed me in.
Down 0.2 lbs. Adios 1 stick of butter. I will take it.
Total Lost: 67.8 (50.2 with WW)
Current weight: 167.2
Heaviest (recorded) weight: 235
Weight Watchers Start weight: 217.4
Goal weight: 155
Lowest weight: 150.2
I wish I could've stayed for the meeting, but work called. I am happy I got to at least weigh-in.
My goal is still to lose 5 lbs by 4/14, but the mini goal before that is to return to the healthy weight range for my height (5-8) which is 163.
Okay that is 4.2 lbs so my goal of 5 lbs is still basically the same thing. Haha. :P
I am going to try to keep the splurge days to the weekend this next week. I am going to do my best to only splurge (and drink) Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I want to try to stay closer to my DPT during the week.
We will see how it goes, but either way I will ask myself "Is this worth it?" before each choice.
Have an amazing weekend friends!!
