On this episode of #DaniDishes, I'm sharing 3 strategies I used this week to reclaim my motivation!!
Read MoreJust another weekend I didn't want to see end. I feel like a broken record on Mondays, but it is a blessing to have the experiences that make me dread a Monday. Right?
And the past few days didn't disappoint.
Read MoreI thought about hiding away from the scale. I feel like a broken record, but I have been struggling recently to find my mojo. I would really like to know where it is hiding. Have you seen it?
Clearly I have the activity part in check...
... but the food portion has been tough. Why? Because I have been a lazy emotional wreck when making choices. There is no one to blame but myself. I am the one bringing chips in the house under the guise that I can "have on serving." Well one serving is turning into 3 servings. But I say to myself "you are weighing and measuring it so that's okay." Ummmm no self. Just no.
So it is time to kick my own booty back into gear. Today is a fresh start.
Read MoreHow the heck is it Thursday? I ask that because in the middle of my Weight Watchers meeting this morning I loudly said something about it being Wednesday then the whole room corrected me. Later in the afternoon I asked for a dog washing appointment for my pup for tomorrow then corrected the girl when she said tomorrow was Friday. I said it would be Saturday.
Ummm can we still blame this confusion on Ragnar? I'm saying #VanBrain and going with it.
Since I feel all over the place this week, I figured Three Things Thursday should work the same way.
Let's Do This!
Read MoreDo you have one of those can't miss local races? I have a few, but one of the tops is definitely the M.O.Ms Run 5k on Mother's Day in Somerville.
The wife and I have run in this race every year since moving back to Boston from Chicago. Now I wanted to make sure 2015 would be no different.
Read MoreThe weekend of a lifetime. Yes yes I know I've been saying that a lot recently. But seriously. I cannot believe these amazing adventures are a part of my life. A ridiculously amazing honor... and all because I took the first step five years ago to change my life.
So what did this weekend hold? Addition of 11 new folks into my family, laughs, lack of sleep and peanut M&Ms.

As Tedy Bruschi says: The Boston Marathon is the Super Bowl of Marathons.
For the third year in a row, I had the honor and privilege to take part in this historic race as a member of the amazing family that is Tedy's Team. Tedy's Team raises awareness about Stroke and I run in honor of my Stroke Heroes - both of my grandparents and my Father-in-law Jim.
In the past three years, I have raised $23,412.37 to #FightStroke. A big thank you is owed to all of you lovely readers for your support over this time. I wouldn't have hit that amazing milestone without all of you. :)
The entire weekend was amazing as always and will be recapped in additional posts, but now it is time to focus on the BIG SHOW - Race Day.

Read MoreMy name is Dani and I am blogging out of the Boston Area. I started this blog in May of 2011 after suffering a back injury and subsequent back surgery in December 2011-January 2011. This space was to serve as a way for me to release the inner feelings I was carrying around and maybe help some other people going through similar situations: eating disorders, depression, weight loss and more.
