Leaving my comfort zone ... one mile at a time.

Read MoreAs race day for the ZOOMA Half Marathon on the Cape approached, my mind silently plotted a time goal. Normally I am quite vocal about what I am aiming for during a race, but this one I wanted to keep under wraps.
Why?
I'm really not sure. It isn't out of the ordinary for me to set at least 3 levels of race goals so that I can accomplish at least one of them and feel pleased with the outcome of the race - whatever that may be.
But it had been awhile since I had set a time goal for a half marathon.

Well I completed the Gone For A Run Run Now Beer Later *virtual* 10k. I had planned on doing this BEFORE said half marathon, but my schedule had different plans! :P
According to the site, Gone For A Run wanted you to complete the race between September 25-27. Well I already had the ZOOMA Women's Half on the schedule for September 26, which left two possible dates. That is where work threw me a curveball leaving me with enough time to squeeze in a 5-miler on September 25. So the 27th it was....
Read MoreIt was the morning of my seventh triathlon and I was a ball of nerves and excitement! I was actually looking forward to tackling the Max Performance Title 9 Women Only Sprint Triathlon.
Not only would I be racing, but I would be there to support three of my Weight Watchers members, as well as, a fellow WW leader and friend. They would all be doing their first triathlon. YES!! I love being there to witness friends push their comfort zones and prove to themselves how strong they are. :)

Enter virtual races. I love using a virtual race to jazz up an otherwise hum drum training run.
So I used yesterday's 7-miler (which I wasn't really looking forward to) to complete the Gone For A Run Sole Sister 7-miler.

How can you pass up participating in a race that is literally across the street from your neighborhood? I mean the commute alone is a huge PRO! ;)
2015 marked the third year of the Race To The Row 5k at Assembly Row in Somerville and the third different course. Haha. There has been a lot of change to the area (improvements) so the course had to adjust as well.

On Sunday morning I woke up nice and early to sneak in 2 relaxing miles before the 4th Annual VERT Sasquatch Trail Run (2.35 miles).
After a cool run and a light breakfast, I began driving to pick up my friend and Slumbrew Happy Soles teammate Heather for the race.
That's when it happened.
My car died.
Read MoreI had three main objectives when heading to San Diego in May to run the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon:
1) Have a freakin' blast with the We Run Social crew (aka soak up all the love, laughs and hugs from my West Coast blogging friends)
2) Take as many pics during the race as possible - oh hey mid-run selfies!
3) Be a small part of my girl Sarah from Mom Running On Empty getting a new shiny marathon PR
My name is Dani and I am blogging out of the Boston Area. I started this blog in May of 2011 after suffering a back injury and subsequent back surgery in December 2011-January 2011. This space was to serve as a way for me to release the inner feelings I was carrying around and maybe help some other people going through similar situations: eating disorders, depression, weight loss and more.
