Amazing Race is coming back to Somerville.

Wait wait! That sounds misleading.

THE Amazing Race the show is not coming back to Somerville, but AN Amazing Race is.

The Somerville Road Runners are putting on the 5th Annual Race To Row 5k ($30 registration) on August 20th at 9am at Assembly Row in Somerville!

If you like a race that:

  • offers free parking and is T accessible
  • is well organized and helps out a local neighborhood (read charitable partner)
  • offers pizza, beer and ice cream after

Then Race To The Row is the run for you!

I am 4-for-4 as a participant in Race To The Row. How could I not be when it is a fun run AND across the street from my house?? :)

So who does a portion of your entry benefit?

East Somerville Main Streets is a non-profit organization dedicated to rebuilding the East Broadway Business District as the heart of the East Somerville community and as a vibrant destination, and improving the quality of life of all those who live in or visit East Somerville. This is accomplished through volunteer-driven events and initiatives which play off of the unique characteristics of the neighborhood in order to further develop that character. We also donate funds to Somerville TrackPAC, which provides college scholarships for Somerville High School students.

Now let's get to the registration details:

The Fast Mile at 9:00am, a 1 mile loop race in Assembly Row open to all ages. Runners in the mile must be able to complete the distance in 10 minutes or less.

Next is the free 1/8 mile Kid's Fun Run (age 9 and under) before the race with all kids getting a medal!

Then at 9:30, they kick off the 5K.

If you'd like to run both the Fast Mile and the 5K, it's only $5 more!
