#FaceItFriday: That Time Of The Month
/Sharing "that time of the month" is never fun with anyone let alone a bunch of friends and strangers, but when it hey it is part of life!
I have looked back at my Weight Watchers weigh-in records of years past and realized that during my period I am used to gaining anywhere between 3-5 lbs a week on average.
Since no one ever wants to see I gain it is nice to be able to see there is a culprit to why it happens regularly once every 4 weeks. :P
So going into this week I didn't expect anything as that time hit me on Wednesday.
I continued to stick to my game plan this week and hope that tracking would get me through the "period cravings" of chocolate and wine. Anyone else?
Let's combine my period with taper time and ask for a disaster combination... am I right? ;)
I entered Friday with my 72 tracking streak in place and at least 2 blue dots this past week.
I have been having a tough March and April, but I have been tracking and owning it all. And by tough I mean enjoying more social time and looser weekends.
I want to make sure this doesn't feel like a diet, but a lifestyle change.
Now by Thursday night I was sitting at -69 pts, which is my lowest pts total in 3-4 weeks so I should've been positive about the weigh-in until my period hit and I felt super bloated.
Workouts this past week:
Friday - Strength + 5 mile run
Saturday - 10 mile run
Sunday - 45 min Flywheel class
Monday - REST DAY
Tuesday - REST DAY
Wednesday - 45 min strength training + 45 min bike trainer
Thursday - 60 min bike trainer + 45 min Flywheel class
When I woke up this morning, I didn't expect much. I just felt BLAH all week long. I made it through my Friday morning strength training class and headed to weigh-in.
I changed into my weigh-in clothes and...
I somehow lost 1.6 lbs!
AHHH I AM BACK IN THE HEALTHY WEIGHT RANGE FOR MY HEIGHT!
17.0 lbs since Jan 27... 6.6 to go!
Total Lost: 73.4 (55.8 with WW)
Current weight: 161.6
Heaviest (recorded) weight: 235
Weight Watchers Start weight: 217.4
Goal weight: 155
Lowest weight: 150.2
This is my lowest weight since September 2, 2015 (160.2) - before I started my current job! I was last in the 150s in August 2015 (when my cousin got married)! Excited to be getting back closer to the healthier and leaner ME!
Now over the next two weeks I will be prepping for them celebrating my 12th marathon so I am not worrying about my next 2 weigh-ins, but I will do it to keep consistent. I will continue to track this week, weigh-in on 4/14 then enjoy marathon weekend and the week after. I promise to weigh-in 4/21 and accept whatever it says. On that day I will return to tracking. So basically I am giving myself one week off from tracking... but I can track if I want to. :)
What did you learn over the last 7 days?
