Face It Friday: Creating A New Routine

This isn't about my job or my workout schedule... it's about breaking into calorie counting!

I decided last week that I would take a break from the new Weight Watchers SmartPoints system and give My Fitness Pal a try.

Boy it feels like I am completely starting over... which is refreshing!

Sometimes we need to try something new in order to find the motivation or jump start our body or mind needs.

I have been feeling very BLAH lately. My workouts aren't where I want them. I am always tired. I feel like I have zero time to do what I want. I am sitting more than usual.

But all of those things are within my control.

I know our break to Disney next week and a dose of the Orlando sun will be a much-needed boost to my emotional state!

The weather here in Boston has been less than stellar and not consistent at all. As witnessed by the hail/snowstorm/rainstorm I ran 16.2 miles in on Sunday.

But I digress...

I have been trying to use My Fitness Pal and getting familiar with the platform. I know in the end tracking is tracking, but when switching from Points to Calories there are going to be adjustments.

I am up for the challenge and ready to work on another step in the journey.

Will this be the end and I will calorie count the rest of the way? Who knows.

Will I return to Weight Watchers SmartPoints? Possibly.

Will I need to try Option C? Most likely.

But as long as I keep trying new things and keeping the bottom line as helping me to live a balanced life - then I am succeeding.

I stepped on the scale this morning to give myself a base of what's been going on the last 2 weeks... and I was up 1.5.

Current weight: 167.1
Heaviest weight: 235
Weight Watchers Start Weight: 217.4
Goal Weight: 155
Lowest Weight: 150.2

I will keep fighting to shed these last 10-12 lbs that crept back on and are taking their sweet time going away.

So excuse me while I get back to figuring out the bells and whistles of MFP... do you have any hints that have helped you with the app?
