Transformation Tuesday: Food Edition

This isn't your typical Transformation Tuesday. It's not about my weight loss journey or my running adventures.

This is a quick tale about a girl going outside of her comfort zone with food...

Growing up I was the pickiest eater around. Hello boiled hot dogs. Plain pasta. Turkey sandwiches. Repeat.

As I got older I got slightly more adventurous.... grilled hot dog. Pasta with pesto. Turkey wraps. Repeat.

It wasn't until 2007 that I would give sushi a try... after a good amount of saki of course. I was living in San Francisco and trying to reinvent myself after finally leaving the Boston area. I even tried Thai food.

Once I joined Weight Watchers in 2009, I focused on trying new healthy foods, but I still had my limits!!

Fish (outside of sushi) - no way!

If you caught my InsideTracker post yesterday, I shared how they suggested salmon to improve my Inner Age.

So tonight the wife and I had an impromptu weeknight sushi date.

And you know what happened? I tried salmon.

And you know what? It was just as slimy and fishy tasting as I thought it would be.

Haha!

It was definitely NOT one of those instances where I had a bite and instantly fell in love.

Nope. I should've had the wife catch my reaction on video - it was priceless.

Will I try it again? Sure. But I think I will hide it in a sushi roll next time. ;)

Have you tried a new food lately? What pushed you out of your comfort zone to do it?
