Deciding On A Milestone Race... Too Many To Choose From
/Over the weekend I ran Rock 'n' Roll Brooklyn. It was my 43rd half marathon. Thank GOODNESS I started a post on the blog dedicated solely to keeping track of which half marathons and marathons I have run. Otherwise I would lose count more times than I care to admit.
I also may or may not go to my Instagram and Twitter profiles to double check the number on a daily basis. :P
While running solo through the streets of Brooklyn, I started thinking...
WHAT WOULD BE HALF #50????
Hey hey hey! What will half #50 be? There is a lot of pressure to make sure it is a good one.
Okay there is no pressure and really the world will keep spinning if it is a local half of 3 people. Am I right? Tell me NO so I think this is important to you too. ;)
Right now I have 4 more half marathons set in 2016..
October 23 - Newburyport Half Marathon - Starts at 9:00 am ET
November 6 - Wine & Dine Half Marathon - Starts at 5:30 am ET
November 13 - Cambridge Half - Starts at 8:00 am ET
December 4 - Jingle Bell Half - Starts at TBD
... which would leave me at 47! 3 more to go.
Now the wheels start turning.
- Do I add 2 more half marathons before Star Wars Light Side Half on January 15, 2017 in Disneyland?
- Do I try to finish it before the end of the year? Thankfully living in New England there are races every weekend straight through the winter.
- Do I go for location?
- Do I pick a dream race?
Ahhh the possibilities are endless.
Folks I haven't even gotten into the fact that I am at 11 marathons - what will be #12?
Well I have no idea what I am going to do for half #50, but I wanted to ask you:
Have you run a milestone race? If so, which race was it, how did you choose it and why?
