Hey Ladies! Who Wants A FREE Entry To The Tufts 10k For Women?

On Monday, October 12, the Tufts Health Plan 10k For Women will run for the 39th year!

Feel the empowerment as you unite with over 7,000 fellow runners and walkers for this Columbus Day tradition that celebrates women and healthy living. This race inspires women of all ages and fitness levels to step up to the start line and achieve their health and fitness goals.

Not only is this one of the best 10ks in the country... it is one of my personal favorites! 

I had the honor of high-fiving Joan Benoit Samuelson in 2012. The one and only JBS high fives each and every finisher at this race with a smile on her face.

Why yes that high-five overshadowed the fact that I had set a new 10k PR (which still stands today).

In 2012 I finished in 47:31 (7:40 min/mile pace). Hot damn was my psyched! I've been trying to come close to that for years and just keep missing the mark.

But ... I have another chance on Monday!! 

Now many ask why I love this course so much. Well not only does it run through the historic streets of Boston, but it offers a sweet out-and-back feature along Memorial Drive and the Charles River. Many don't like the out-and-back route in general, but I think it is an amazing opportunity to see friends and family along the way! I love high-fiving, cheering and shouting out for familiar - and unfamiliar - faces! The atmosphere and camaraderie are electrifying!

The race starts and ends at the Boston Commons, which is where bib pick-up and expo take place. With a NOON start, you can avoid the early wake-up and enjoy a nice post-race lunch downtown. I know that's my plan.

There is a FREE 1k race for kids at 10:30am!!

Kick off the day with this wonderful event for children of all ages. It not only promotes the importance of exercise, it’s a fun experience for your kids to enjoy.
