*RECAP* 2015 Herring Run 5k... Running For The Fishes

Ever want to wake up, roll out of bed and be at the Start Line of the race in a matter of 8 minutes?

I had the pleasure of doing that very thing this morning! My BFF Sarah, my Tedy's Team teammate and friend Page and I took part in the 19th Annual Herring Run 5k... which happened to take place at the end of my street.

Oh yeah you read that right. Talk about accessibility!

Face It Friday: A Large Gain, A Reality Check & Motivation

Face It Friday: A Large Gain, A Reality Check & Motivation

I thought about hiding away from the scale. I feel like a broken record, but I have been struggling recently to find my mojo. I would really like to know where it is hiding. Have you seen it?

Clearly I have the activity part in check...

... but the food portion has been tough. Why? Because I have been a lazy emotional wreck when making choices. There is no one to blame but myself. I am the one bringing chips in the house under the guise that I can "have on serving." Well one serving is turning into 3 servings. But I say to myself "you are weighing and measuring it so that's okay." Ummmm no self. Just no.

So it is time to kick my own booty back into gear. Today is a fresh start.

Three Things Thursday: Post-Back Surgery Comparison, Leaping & A Womans Only Sprint Tri

Three Things Thursday: Post-Back Surgery Comparison, Leaping & A Womans Only Sprint Tri

How the heck is it Thursday? I ask that because in the middle of my Weight Watchers meeting this morning I loudly said something about it being Wednesday then the whole room corrected me. Later in the afternoon I asked for a dog washing appointment for my pup for tomorrow then corrected the girl when she said tomorrow was Friday. I said it would be Saturday.

Ummm can we still blame this confusion on Ragnar? I'm saying #VanBrain and going with it.

Since I feel all over the place this week, I figured Three Things Thursday should work the same way.

Let's Do This!

3.1 Miles Of Fun... aka 2015 BAA 5k Recap

3.1 Miles Of Fun... aka 2015 BAA 5k Recap

What's the best way to shake out the legs before the Boston Marathon?

Dance, skip, sing, laugh and selfie your way through the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) 5k of course!

And I did just that this year.

2015 would be the fourth year I would be running the 5k and third as a shakeout run for the Big Show. Now in the past two years I had run too fast for a shakeout run. Yeah I got a little caught up in the "race" portion of it. Hey it happens when I run alone.

Boston Marathon 2015 Recap: A Wet & Wild Ride

Boston Marathon 2015 Recap: A Wet & Wild Ride

As Tedy Bruschi says: The Boston Marathon is the Super Bowl of Marathons.

For the third year in a row, I had the honor and privilege to take part in this historic race as a member of the amazing family that is Tedy's Team. Tedy's Team raises awareness about Stroke and I run in honor of my Stroke Heroes - both of my grandparents and my Father-in-law Jim.

In the past three years, I have raised $23,412.37 to #FightStroke. A big thank you is owed to all of you lovely readers for your support over this time. I wouldn't have hit that amazing milestone without all of you. :)

The entire weekend was amazing as always and will be recapped in additional posts, but now it is time to focus on the BIG SHOW - Race Day.
